The Tribe Youth Development Foundation will on Saturday, 17 October 2026, host its Next Generation Summit at The Purple Place, Lokogoma, Abuja, where it will formally induct the 2026/2027 cohort of its Career Champions Fellowship Programme.
Organisers describe the summit as the largest gathering yet of Nigeria’s emerging and established business and career leaders. The event will bring together emerging, faith-driven business and career leaders with senior leaders from the public and private sectors to exchange ideas and experience.
This year’s edition carries added significance: it will also serve as the induction ceremony for the Career Champions Fellowship Programme, a fully funded, six-month scholarship initiative delivered through the Tribe Africa Institute School of Technology and Computing.
According to the Foundation, 2,463 applications were received this cycle from young people across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, and fully funded scholarships were awarded to 2,463 of them.
The cohort spans Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Project Management, Software Engineering, Data Science, Digital Marketing, and Customer Support.
Cybersecurity proved the most sought-after track, drawing 884 applicants aspiring to become Security Analysts and SOC Analysts. A further 699 applicants are training to become Project Coordinators and Business Analysts, while 531 are pursuing careers as Data Analysts and BI Analysts.
“These are not vague aspirations,” the Foundation said of the programme’s design. “Every track we teach is mapped directly to hireable job roles fellows can step into the moment they graduate.”
Guests will be taken through the Career Champions Fellowship Story Wall — a guided exhibit tracing the scale of youth unemployment the programme is designed to address, the interventions being deployed, and the outcomes produced so far — before proceeding to the Main Hall for the induction ceremony.
Fellows will be presented with graduation-style sashes bearing the words “CAREER CHAMPION” and “CLASS OF 2026,” marking the formal start of a six-month journey organisers say will be a turning point for many.
The summit will also unveil the Foundation’s longer-term vision, provisionally named “Project 1M by 2030” — an ambition to scale the Career Champions Fellowship model to reach one million young people across Africa by the end of the decade, with a rollout that organisers say will eventually reach communities at the ward and local government level.
The Tribe Youth Development Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation focused on closing the youth unemployment gap in Africa through fully funded scholarships, skills training, and structured post-training support, including an Applied Capstone Project in which fellows solve real business problems and pitch solutions directly to the businesses involved.
The Foundation works with stakeholders across the public and private sectors and has previously partnered with area councils and government ministries on youth-focused interventions.
